POETRY AS AN EMBODIED ART
The story behind "Cow Tripe"
What began as a chap book of my most intimate poems written during the beginning of my exploration of queer identity turned into the first edition of "Cow Tripe" published by Hopscotch Editions in Berlin, thanks to the first editor Erin Hopscotch.
Times of isolation and reflection following the events of 2020, call for this poetic exploration of love and grief through the lens of black womanhood, Southern USAmericanness, and modernity.
The first edition of my debut poetry book, COW TRIPE, is available in physical form at Chertluedde and Hopscotch Reading Room in Schoeneberg, Berlin, Germany. Vocal activation of "cow tripe" can be found here.
Editing with the Archive Ensemble
Since early 2023, I have been an part of the Archive Ensemble--a queer-feminist, anti-colonial publisher based in Berlin, Milan, and Dakar.
